A Country Fayre has been a key
part of the village calendar in Charlton for many years, and is held annually in June, on and around the village green.
This year's Fayre was another resounding success, the weather was kind, we had an excellent turnout with a number of varied stalls, The
Wychavon youth group provided games and the Youth Bus. We had music from the Malvern Delta Blues Band.
The funds raised was the best ever - we raised just over £2600 for the village. Funds have been allocated for the VE 75th anniversary
commemoration planned for next May and the Church and School Room receiving £1000 each.
However - there is only a small group of people who organise and run the Fayre. We need more volunteers to help if the Fayre is to continue.
The help required covers various activities e.g. help with the set up and take down, run a stall, car parking, advertising, program production.
We will be organising a meeting in October to give everyone a chance to see what is required and how they can help. As the old saying goes
'many hands make light work'. It would be a great shame if the Fayre were to cease, it is not only an enjoyable day but it also shows off the village to all our visitors.
