Wychavon District Council, supported by Worcestershire County Council, have been lucky enough to secure Stage 6 of the OVO Energy Tour of Britain on Thursday 12th September 2019, which is a massive opportunity for the locations involved. The Tour of Britain, which is the nation’s biggest professional bike race, will be showcasing 120 of the world’s best cyclists across eight challenging stages, and best of all, it is free for spectators to attend.
On Thursday 12th September the Worcestershire’s Vale and Spa stage will host the key time trial, with riders racing one at a time against the clock over a 9 mile (14 kilometre) route that starts and finishes in Pershore Town Centre. To accommodate all the Tour infrastructure, team vehicles and for riders and spectators’ safety, roads will be closed under a Section 16A (Sporting Events on the Highway) order.
