The Battle of Evesham (4th August 1265) was one of the most important English conflicts of the mid-13th century, and was by far the bloodiest of the Second Barons' War - with around 5,000 soldiers killed on Evesham's streets and in the surrounding countryside. This was Simon De Montfort's last stand against the forces of King Henry lll, led by his son, the future King Edward l.
This year's re-enactment will take place on Evesham's crown Meadow on Saturday 3rd of August from 10:00am ~ 4:30pm and on Sunday 4th August from 11:00am ~ 4:30pm. More information on the event is available at: www.BattleofEvesham.co.uk
